Sunday

Hello, dear readers !

Okay, I've made a few decisions today.  This is the  first rosette of the Passacaglia quilt.  This was hand stitched using Inklingo.

The next one I did was paper pieced using www.paperpieces.com

So I've decided to use both methods to produce this quilt.  We will see how it goes.

I'm still working on this baby blanket.  I love the pattern, it's free from Lionbrand, and the yarn is wonderful to work with....have to get it done ASAP!

My toe has finally stopped oozing and looks like it will make it.  LOL

Have a nice dinner in the oven and we're starving.
Hope you all are having a great day.
Until later...

A Monster Mash

Hello, dear readers!

Yes, it's been a miss mash of things.

Well, I worked a little bit on my quilt.  It's been slow going.
I stopped production for a bit.  Had to get a new rotary blade.
When they really get dull they shouldn't be used....maybe except for paper. Ha!
I have completed one rosette.  (Will snap a px tomorrow.)

So to break it up a bit, I gave a try to make a cake recipe I found on FB.  One box of cake mix and 12 ounces of Sprite.  (There is a list of different mixes and sodas to use).  Mix together.  Spray your 9x13 pan, pour into pan and cook for 30 minutes.
It was very tasty.
No eggs, no oil, and no water.
DH ran out to the store to get fresh fruit, whipped cream, and French vanilla ice cream.
Go figure. Ha, ha!

I finally, FINALLY finished my grand daughter's sweater.
It took me a long time, but it's done.  Hope she can wear it for a month or two, LOL.
They grow so quick.

I have a few more things I'm working on, that I need to take pxs of, one being a baby blanket for my niece's new baby which is on the way and need to knit faster and some tatted Christmas snowflakes.  It's never too early to start, right?

And last but not least.....

We (I) wear flip flops practically year round here.  However, when you need to change your toilet seat for a new one and hold it perpendicular, and you drop it on your toe, make sure you are wearing SHOES!
Believe me, I saw stars.
It hurt like hell!
My toe will never be the same again.

OUCH!

Putting my foot up.

The new quilt

Hello, dear readers.

Today I tried using Inklingo.com.
Have you seen this process yet?
I printed them out in no time for the first rosette pieces to start with.
Will see how it goes later and tomorrow,
I'll have formed a decision on which way I want to go with this.

Very relaxing using straight stitching and not paper piecing.

Here we go....

The Beginning - Passacaglia

Hello, dear readers!

Not doing too much today, it's kind of hot....
Just playing with this quilt.
Here are some pieces for this quilt in this pack.
There are a lot more.  LOL

Okay, done with the center star shape and the next round going in.

Today I finished up with this ring.
It doesn't thrill me yet.
I think I need to rethink some color changes.
Kinda drab, don't you think?
At least I'm trying to get use to English paper piecing.

Back to the drawing board.

The Saga Continues

Hello, dear readers!

I think I may have found one solution to get the px here.  It took me a while to do this.  Now I have to figure out how to do it again :)
So frustrating.

This sweater is all done but here I didn't show the button bands, have to get buttons.

Until later..

Wednesday woes

Hello, dear readers!

Well, I had some px of the finished sweater, but I downloaded the new Windows 10 and am having trouble with my camera and px.  Like where in the heck did they go?
I'm working on it....it's just too frustrating now.
Is anyone working with Windows 10?

Not to mention, I tripped over my dog this am, went down hard and sprained my wrist really bad.
 I'm pecking on the keys.

But that's not the best part.

The mail lady dropped off my new book and English paper piecing papers and I can't play with them.  Since I'm left handed, it had to be my left wrist, right?

Maybe tomorrow I can play with my new toys.
You can see what's a priority LOL!

My first entry to do on my bucket list!

Hello, dear readers :)

I guess I've started kind of a bucket list, just like so many of you out there.
Well, I just had to see what all the fuss is about that is burning up the Internet.  I'm talking about the book and quilts from the  "Millefiori Quilts."  It's tops on my bucket list.

Isn't it beautiful?  I've done some searches to find out everything I could.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to hand piece it or English Paper Piece.  I've tried EPP before and it was really quite fun for me.  Everything seemed to go together perfectly.  But, I ordered the book thinking I would hand stitch, but then changed my mind to do paper piecing.  What fun!

So with that in mind I found a great website that has everything you need.  www.paperpieces.com
Since I was still debating at first what method I was going to use, I just ordered the book.  Today I ordered paper pieces.  I ordered the La Passacaglia 5 small pack to start my journey.
Both the book and the papers have been shipped.  Woo hoo!  Quick service, I must say.
So for the rest of the week I'm going to raid all my boxes of fabric and by the time I find what I want to use, my book and papers should have arrived.

Until later...

A very lazy day!

Hello, dear readers :)

Remember this sweater?  I started it a very long time ago.  It took me ages to get to the end.
It's a Patricia Roberts design.

But look at it now!  It's done, well almost. The sleeves were finished on vacation as well as the button bands.  Just the neckband and button bands need to be sewn on.  Then it will be ready to be shipped out.
One project (almost) finished!

I've been following "justonecookbook" because her recipes are just wonderful.  I have tried many of her recipes with much success.
She recently cooked a "baked croquette."

My take on the recipe was to use leftover mashed potatoes.   I chopped one good sized onion, oil, omitted the ground beef, black pepper, Kosher salt, (I didn't have "panko" )so I used herb breadcrumbs, butter and 1 large egg, and some flour.  Since my husband and I really like potato pancakes with sour cream, this was a good second.  What surprised me the most was that my DH raved about them!  Who knew?  So if you start from scratch or use your left over mashed potatoes, it will be a hit.

Not too sure what I'm going to try to fix tomorrow.  It's only 104 degrees here.  I may have to shop at 11 pm to avoid the sweltering heat.
Until later ...

Camping in the Catskills

Hello, dear readers !

It has certainly been a while.

So sorry, but life happens.

We were traveling, and had a wonderful time visiting.

Camping in the Catskills at Brookside Campgrounds which was a great place for kids.

So for the next few days I'll show you more pictures and what I'm currently working on.
