Sunday Knitting

Hello, dear readers :)
I've been knitting and ripping, knitting and ripping for a week.  I'm tired!
Finally decided to ditch the 000 needle and go up to a 00-0.  It is a lot easier to see and to work with.  What a mess it was.

So, now...

It's a lot of work that was unraveled and put back together.  I seem to be running out of the green thread, so I'll have to unravel the original mess ( leaves ) in order to use it.
I am determined!
The only difference is that the bag will be a little larger.

So for the re-do I am using 128 stitches on a circular needle between 00 and 0.  So be it.
My next thought, when I get to change the color to work on the pineapple I'm going to string all the beads on the thread,  instead of putting them on by hand. It was not productive, believe me.  After digging around a bit, I found some Earth Farie beads that will work.
I'll need beads on every 8th stitch on one row.

If anyone wants to make one, cast on 128 stitches circular or dp's.  (32 stitches on 4 needles)
 Round 1 - K6, yo, k1,yo, k6, sl1-k2tog-psso around.
Round 2 - K7, yo, k1, yo, k6, sl1-k2tog-psso, (k6. yo, k1, yo, k6, sl1-k2tog-psso) to last 15 sts.  Work the (k6, yo, k1, yo, k6, sl1-k2tog-psso) once more, removing the start of round marker to work the k2tog.  Replace the start of round marker after the decrease.
Repeat second round until the length you want the leaves to be.

Until later...

It's all in the basting

Hello, dear readers :)
I am still working on my quilt.  I'm still not done basting.
The dog just loves it when I'm on the floor.
Oh my poor butt.

I'm hard at work.
It has taken all day to do part of this basting and a lot more to go.
I have to finish this today so I can start to quilt it.
If it means anything, the quilt measures 80 x 80 so far.
I've used a good quality muslin for the backing and  a queen size Hobbs organic for the quilt batting.
Baste, baste, baste (yuck)
Until later...

Back to the 30's

Hello, dear readers :)

Well, with one project finished and ready to be boxed, wrapped and sent, I unearthed a quilt I made quite a long time ago.  I was on a 1930's kick at that time.  Maybe I didn't really like the fabric, that's why I didn't finish it.  I don't know.  But now, I think I may make one of my spare bedrooms and all 1930"s room.  Could be a lot of fun to do!

It needs to be ironed well and then I'll get it ready to make my quilt sandwich to go into my Grace Hoop for hand quilting.  Yep, hand quilting.  It's very soothing for me.
So I'll keep you posted on it's progress.
Hope everyone is well.
Until later...
