Tuesday Evening

Hello, dear readers !

Well, I've been slowly working on the tatted centerpiece.  I have to admit that I cut the third round off and started all over again, using two shuttles this time.

Ahhhh, all that work !  Boo, hoo!

Then, when I went out to water my morning glories, look what I found!  
Isn't he pretty?  It made up for the redo tatting round.

I really need a new camera...maybe I can put it on my wish list for Christmas? (I keep talking about it, LOL)

Cast Iron Skillet

Hello, dear readers !

Well, I learned something today.  You don't need several pots and pans to cook, you only need one, ONE cast iron pan with a lid.  I threw out all my Teflon pans that were scraped and really bit the dust. 
(They needed to go)
So, I gave it a try with my granny's cast iron skillet.  Enough for 2 people.

Okay, I used two apples- your choice.  Half of an onion, chopped.

One cup water, two cups rice in a rice cooker.  Let it cook while you are preparing the onions and apples.
When the onions and apples are cooking and turn out to be brownish, add your pork chops and let them cook. It doesn't take very long.  When done, serve the pork chops with apple slices/onions and a scoop of rice.  Delicious!!

It's in ONE pan, (well, I guess we have to consider a rice cooker,) but you just need to clean ONE pan!!!   No muss, no fuss, no cleaning, no pots or pans, just serve it.  
It can also  be popped into the oven to keep it warm.  
How cool it that!

Busy, busy, busy!

Hello, dear readers :)

I've been steadily working on the white sweater.  Below is the pattern.

So for watching TV in the evenings, I'm knitting.  
I alternate between this sweater and socks (several pairs) that both need to be done by Christmas.

During the early mornings you can find me tatting. 
I found this doily on line called, "A Tatted Centerpiece of Many Possibilities."  
I'm slowly working the 3rd row.

Then on the weekends, I have to finish up my quilt.  
(I was asked to make a couple more.)

Think I need more to do?  
Ya, right LOL

Well, I've been cleaning out stuff, still.  Nothing exciting here.

Trying to get this sweater done, but it's slow going.

The pattern and yarn is from Pingouin called Orage.  It's made up of acrylic, mohair and wool.  This is going to take me a while, I think.

Robin Williams

Hello, dear readers.

I was really shocked today to learn that Robin Williams passed away today.
I am heart broken. 

I grew up with Robin Williams and think I have seen every venue that he starred in.

He was an amazing man.
Such a waste.

Rest in peace, Robin Williams.

I will miss you.

Shrimp Boil

Hello, dear readers !

Tonight, there is a beautiful moon in the sky and I really wish I had a much better camera, but I'll have to soon forget that and buy a ride on mower. LOL
But the picture sucked anyway.

My shrimp bowl. You can really use anything you like, craw fish maybe?  We happen to like shrimp.
Okay, first you need a stock pot or one that will hold all your ingredients.  Mine has seen better days. I desperately need some new pots and pans.  Fill with water about half way and add a tablespoon of salt.

Let this come to a rolling boil.
While waiting for the water to boil, you can fix your potatoes.  I have used several different kinds of potatoes for this.  I would say it would be up to you.  But the red potatoes are easier to handle and I've cut them into halves.  My preference.

After your water is boiling add potatoes and bring the boil up again.  When the potatoes are almost done, add your corn on the cob.  Bring to a boil again and let it go.  You can add your spices a little at a time, and beware, that stuff is hotter than hell, and  gives it a little kick, your tongue will be on fire.  

Check the potatoes again, they should be done as well as the corn.  It doesn't take long.  Then add a bag of already frozen shrimp (tails on or off, your choice) and this should  be about 5 minutes.  When done, get out the butter and slather your corn.  If you want to add your sausages, this boil is so good for them too.

Okay, water boil, add potatoes, add corn, add shrimp and you're done.  A quick and easy meal.
Make sure you have a large pitcher of ice water if you added a hefty amount of spices LOL.

Babylace Boil

Hello, dear readers.
I must admit that I have been lax in not blogging every day, I'm still  cleaning out and have so much crap, I have no idea where it came from. HA

However, I did manage to find a paisley scarf for a few pennies at the Dollar Store and found one ball of Lizbeth black thread size 20 from www.handyhands.  I'm using Mary Konior's pattern, "babylace" again.  I have a feeling that for such a large scarf I'll need one more ball.  Usually, I like to attach the tatting as I go, but I thought I'd try to sew this one on.

So for excitement later today, I thought I'd make a shrimp boil.  DH and I love this.  So I have all my ingredients ready, and it's good to go.

Shrimp, red potatoes, corn and spices.  YUMMMMM
Sometimes we enjoy adding a few nice, plump sausages for a change.
