The Devil Made Me Do It!!!!

Hello, dear readers :)
I kept looking and looking at my stitches for the 9th round, which I find confusing and messy.  However, I kept going but it doesn't look very good to me, sooooooo
I got out the scissors and snipped. Boo Hoo

Goodbye yellow-pink rose!  Ahhhhhhhhh
Previously, I said it could have been the color, I don't know.  Maybe now I'll change it.
This row was a lot of work and will join all the other "snips."
Looks like it's gonna rain so I probably will work on this for the afternoon.

Until later....maybe LOL

I'm Keeping Busy

Hello, dear readers :)
I've been working on several projects.  I'm still working on the "Napkin" and this row is taking a lot of time.  When you look at the 9th row and add about 10 more rows- it's gonna be big!
DH wants me to make one of these for his sister.  I had her pick between white and ecru.  Ecru it was!  So I've ordered  6 balls of Lizbeth size 20 in color 603.  It's a light ecru.  For her piece I'm going to have it framed!  I'll still have to ask her what background she would like to go with her walls, and what color frame.

Along with working this, I have begun a quilt for my new granddaughter.  I really love paper piecing (first love) and red work quilts, to name a few, LOL.
I unearthed an old Mother Goose pattern from Grandma Rachel's website and found some beautiful, excellent quality muslin and copied all my patterns, so that's done.  I've used a red pigma pen 05 for tracing.
Now the task is to embroider all 9 squares.  I love to see a nine patch square in red and white blended with the embroidery.  I may change my mind, though, but I doubt it  :)
Then I went to the fabric store and found this pattern.
So, I thought I would use my embroidery machine to embroider some teddy bears  or hearts, balloons, or whatever child design I can find.  Not sure yet :)  But the pattern is perfect for what I want to do.

So I've been busy with the craft stuff.

Tomorrow I'll show you what has been planted so far and I'm getting itchy to play with the dirt.
I hope YOU are having fun, too?
So, I'll be about you?
Until later...

The Baby Game

Hello, dear readers!
I'm sorry that I haven't written in almost a week????  Yipes
Jim's son came to visit and it was a whirlwind week.  We hated to see him go.
His son was so helpful and we couldn't thank him enough!

So for the rest of the week I've been up to crazy stuff.
Tomorrow I'll get some pictures taken of what I'm working on.  It's a "baby marathon" and I've got a ton to do, FAST! LOL
So until next time I'll have some pxs of what I'm doing.
Until then...

What to do????

Hello, dear readers :)

I've been working all day on this and I"m still not very happy with this row.
So what am I doing wrong?
Should I cut this row and start all over again?
Until later....

The Honey Napkin Garden

Hello, dear readers :0)
Our a/c is working nicely, didn't need much air today because it was really nice and cool outside.  So, I started all over again on row 9  and I'm not sure why, but this row looks choppy.  It doesn't look very smooth to me.  Maybe this round doesn't want to be pink?  I guess I'll keep going, but I still have issues with the round until I can find someone to explain the motif and if it's 2 shuttles or 1 ball and 1 shuttle, flip or the shoelace trick, or switching shuttles.......
What do you think?  Change the color and or find another way to tat this?  UGH
So, while I'm fiddling with this row, in between I'm doing some spring cleaning.  Where does this stuff come from?  We vacuumed and shampooed our rugs, started throwing out crap and generally a good thorough clean.  PLUS we have a house guest from Florida on the way. It's nice to get a really clean smell to the place and our air conditioner working properly !!!!
Okay, if anyone has ideas let me know?????
Until later.....

Over and Over and Over...... Eeeeeek

Hello, dear readers :)

I'm addicted to the Honey Napkin Garden!!!!

Ah, me....we lost our a/c about 3 days ago and it's been hot!  You feel like "limp and frustrated" and finally the service man came and fixed it.  Now, it's running again and it's sooooo very blissful!
Being hot and trying to tat, let alone get the oven going,  forget it!
It's probably why I've been soooooo frustrated. (Could have been a reason why we ate out! LOL)
Remind me about finding a new Thai restaurant that is to die for!  The Genghis Grill?
Have you experienced this yet?

I have tried tatting it all ways.  It appears to me that it looks close -  but then again, not.
Does this make sense?
So I've been cutting and starting all over again, all - day - long.......
I think I have the idea, but it just doesn't look right to me.
So, I'm making a mess at the moment.

I think I'll get dinner started in a few minutes and get away from it for a bit, relax in the cool air,  and then, try, try, try, yet again!!!
So, maybe tomorrow I'll have something to show you.....(fingers crossed).
Until then....

St. Patrick's Day

Hello, dear readers :)
Hope you had a glorious St. Patrick's Day!

It's nice to know that when I traced my roots on Ancestry,
I found that I'm Irish on my dad's side.
DH and I went out to dinner and celebrated!!!
I had my first, green beer!
It looked like I was going to drink mouthwash. YUCK!
It was okay, but I'd rather drink tea.
At least the spirit of the Irish was with me for the moment.
Nighty night, am getting ready for the next round!
Until later....

Have a Wonderful St. Patrick's Day

Hello, dear readers :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
Today I have finished the 8th round!

I've secured all my threads and ready to begin row 9.

However, I'm debating whether or not to block it out now.  I'm going to need some serious pinning.
I don't know if I have enough pins to do the trick. I'll have to find my larger marking board because it's now at 13" diameter and I've got 10 more rows to go.
I'm wondering how many more balls I'm going to need as well !!!
I'm not positive about the next round of color(s) either :)
Decisions, decisions!!!
Maybe later....

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Max is dressed in his green bandana and ready to have some green beer, cabbage and corned beef.

Tomorrow I'll show you how far I've gotten on my Honey Napkin.
or maybe later.... ???

The Honey Napkin

Hello, dear readers :)
We are anxiously watching the "smoke stack" and it's quite something, isn't it?
We are a part of history!
I'm still working on my "garden" and it's coming along....

This one is a lot of fun!!!!
Until later...

The Honey Napkin Garden - Round 8 Coming Up

Hello, dear readers :)

I hate it when we have to turn the clocks!
I just don't take it well.
However, it's better setting the clock ahead instead of back.
I wish someone would eliminate this stupid clock setting!!!!

Okay, I've been working around my Honey Napkin and will show you how far I've gotten.

I have noticed that the deeper red should have been much tighter and I"ll have to shape it a little bit better when it's done and starched.
It's been fun so far!

Until later...

The Honey Napkin Garden

Hello, dear readers :)
I just couldn't I blocked it!
I thought that my stitches were too tight and that it was beginning to pucker.
Anyway, it's drying now and I won't be able to work on it for a bit.
I'm not sure what color to use on the next round which is exactly like this one except upside down.  I'm going to have to scratch my head a bit to figure it out...again :)
Perfect day to tat, though
Until later...

Honey Napkin Garden - Daffodils

Hello, dear readers :)
Well, I stuck to this and kept tatting and snipping, until FINALLY it clicked!

I'm not sure when I get this round done, I'm going to block it out.  It appears that it's slightly "cupping" but I'll  have to wait.

I have a ways to go today,  so you know what I'll be doing!
Until later...

Digging in the Garden

Hello, dear readers :)
Well, I've been fussing with this all day today and still do not know what I'm doing!
Did I say that?

Okay, maybe a rest from it and cut it off and start all over again!
Any suggestions out there?
Maybe tomorrow ....

The Honey Napkin Garden

Hello, dear readers :)
Yesterday was doctor day.  You know, whatever the flavor of the week is, so you do.  UGH!
So, it didn't leave me much time to do anymore tatting.
BUT, today is a relax-walk-around day.
We did a few groceries and generally hung around.
I was madly trying to figure out this 7th row.
I had to ask Georgia how to do it, because, quite frankly I never knew what throwing a ring was.  Well, now I do.  I'm still somewhat confused, but that's natural LOL.
I'll keep at it and if I don't like it, I'll snip it off.
Ah, me :)
Until later...

My Honey Napkin Garden: Almost Done With Another Row

Hello, dear readers :)
I've been working very hard.
This round, I had done a few motifs and when I picked it up again,
there were so many joins when I made mistakes, it didn't look very good, so...
I cut it off and started all over again.
I'm so anxious to begin the next round because it's really different.  I made the decision to use a variegated yellow with the green to depict daffodils (or some other yellow flower).
I've really tried to focus on getting my stitches uniform and have a little bit more to go with this round.  I need to finish off the tails but thought that maybe I should wait until it's done and wet when blocking and then hide the tails.  (I'm not sure)!
So, will see how it comes out tonight!
Until later...

The Honey Napkin Garden

Hello, dear readers :)
Well, I've been working hard on this round which is relatively easy and then onward to a much harder pattern on row 7.  So I asked for help at one of my tatting sites and had a tatter diagram it for me, because I didn't know which way was up or which way to go and I needed 2 shuttles. LOL
Thus far:
When I hit the next round, I'm going to introduce another color and I did place another order with Handy Hands for some more thread (like I don't have enough- it's never enough, right? LOL).
So, I'm going to mosey around this row and see what it looks like!
Until later...

The Honey Napkin Garden

Hello, dear readers :)

The bed is grand.
DH and I splurged for new bedding, and OMG!
A beautiful, plush blanket and new quilt and shams.

So I did manage to get to the next row.  Looking ahead, I'm not sure about a couple of rows that look like split rings, and maybe a floating ring.  (Yikes)
I guess I'll worry about it when I come to it and then yell (scream) for help!

One thing I'm going to make an addendum to, is to call this piece the Honey Napkin Garden/pattern by Renulek.  As I've stated before, this is not my pattern.  It belongs to this beautiful tatter and pattern maker and you can find her tat-along on her website that I've mentioned before.  Fabulous tatter!
What I'm attempting to do is create a blending of colors of the garden.  I wish now, that I made the center medallion/rosette in red or pink.  But, no matter.  I can do it all over again LOL!!!
By the way, so far the colors used are 621, 627, 678, and 690 of Lizbeth size 20 weight thread.
Going to work on my next round and see you soon!
Hope you are having a glorious day.
Until next time...

Honey Napkin and the Bed

Hello, dear readers :)
Our new bed was finally delivered today!!!!  Couldn't wait to sit/lie on it...but because it's a gel with a pillow top, we were told to wait two hours before we jump on the bed!  Believe me, sleeping on the floor on an air mattress is not very comfortable, but we did it!  We slept rather well, but our old bones were creakin' today.

So while we were waiting for delivery I managed to get a few more motifs done, and almost
 finished the round.
So tomorrow, I'll have a px of how I'm progressing on the Honey Napkin.
Until later...
